Description
Three months have passed since the colonial planet of Meridian was invaded by the alien alliance known as the Covenant. Under close military surveillance, Evie, Dorian, Saskia and Victor underwent an accelerated training program by ONI, the Office of Naval Intelligence. Much to the boys' surprise, ONI has a mission for them: return to their hometown on Meridian and keep tabs on the Covenant's efforts to recover an ancient and possibly powerful Forerunner artifact. But what seems like a simple enough mission soon spirals out of control. With the artifact at risk of falling into the hands of the Covenant, the danger is ever greater, and ONI tasks the four teenagers and their team of militiamen with recovering the object so they can study it. After a series of mistakes costs the militia more than half of its fighters, the boys will take the task into their own hands. Their journey will take them behind enemy lines, into the heart of the Meridian war zone.
