Valentine's Day has never been so sweet with the arrival in bookshops, comic shops and all online stores starting from February 15th of the first volume of Ice Guy & Cool Girl 1 by Miyuki Tonogaya under the J-POP Manga brand. The anime, available from January on Crunchyroll , was based on this original fantasy romantic comedy born on the web!
Every time Himuro meets Fuyutsuki in the office, the room gets cold... literally! As a descendant of Yuki-onna, the Snow Woman of Japanese folklore, Himuro possesses the power to generate cold and ice, but is not capable of controlling it at all. In fact, when he gets emotional, objects close to him begin to freeze and, on the most serious occasions, he can even summon a snowstorm against his will. What warms the young man's heart is only the crush he feels for Fuyutsuki: will he be able to take a step towards her or will he remain awkward and... cold?
“The idea for this manga was born in the summer of 2018...” declares the author Miyuki Tonogaya in the afterword: “For several days in a row there had been infernal heat... I just wanted a little refreshment and so I came up with the idea of drawing a manga about two cold and detached characters.” After the great online success Ice Guy & Cool Girl was nominated for the Next Manga Award as Best Web Manga and then moved to the paper format.
The series is ongoing, the first two volumes will be released monthly and then continue bimonthly. The first chapter of the tender episodic tale of the impossible love between the glacial Himuro and his cool colleague, Fuyutsuki, awaits you in bookstores, comic shops and in all online stores starting from February 15th!
