The Emperor of Japan has entrusted his courtiers (the players) with the difficult task of taking care of the animal by cultivating his bamboo garden. They must cultivate the land, irrigate it and grow one of the three species of bamboo with the help of the imperial gardener. They will have to contend with the insatiable hunger of the sacred animal, always in search of the most tender and juiciest bamboo shoots…
Whoever grows the most bamboo, managing his pieces of land well and feeding the panda in the meantime, will win the game.
